Sitting surrounded by teak and rattan furniture and what-not in Mum’s Place at Damansara Perdana, it was the right place to be at for dinner with an old friend who came visiting and a new friend who I’ve just met not long ago. I was quite anxious what will the outcome be, by having two of my friends who have varied interests and came from different backgrounds, dining on the same table. My stomach was crunching badly before they met, but once I got over my own silly fret, I was feeling so much better. The serving of the dishes were too simplistic (or should I say too ‘cincai’) for a fancy restaurant like this. The only exciting dish was the fried deer meat in black pepper sauce. The food decoration was just as bad as the way my home prepares them, but taste of the dish was alright. I had myself a Long Island Tea. To my disappointment, I was not given good quality of liquor, and it was actually TEA! I wouldn’t really mind the originality in creating a new set of cocktail, but I was truly not prepared for such odd surprise in my drink. Below are the recipe for L.I.T. taken from my often visited site:
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz tequila
juice of 1/2 lemons
1 splash Coca-Cola
Combine all ingredients (except cola) and pour over ice in a highball glass. Add the splash of cola for color. Decorate with a slice of lemon and serve.
